Ms. Arial holds a Master’s degree in Geography from the University Paris 1 - Panthéon Sorbonne. She is land and forest tenure professional, working as freelance consultant, responsible for research and training coordination activities on environmental justice in the University of East Anglia (UEA), and preparing a PhD in the School of International Development of the UEA.
Prior joining the UEA in 2013, she worked for five years as Land Tenure Officer in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations being closely involved in the development and application of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests. She was also responsible for the FAO Land Tenure Journal and coordinated the implementation of FAO technical cooperation projects. She has field experience from several countries from Africa, Asia and Europe and is currently involved in the backstopping of land administration projects in Croatia and Bosnia.
