Over 15 year experience in international missions related to disaster management, recovery, rehabilitation and development. Mr. Monguzzi holds a Bachelor Degree in Contemporary History at the University of Milan.
Since 1999 he has been working on international humanitarian operations field with special focus on coordination, relief, recovery and management in natural disaster and post conflicts operations, through several collaborations with NGOs and the International Red Cross. He undertook long-term assignments at regional and country level, as well as short-term missions in several countries within the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and Middle East regions.
He believes in “non-intrusive” development assistance to countries, as opposed to “old school” aid, and that tradition and local solutions are always better suited than foreign intervention. He is currently disaster management coordinator for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Europe and Central Asia and part of the disaster management global team.
