Samuele C.A. is a Mercator-IPC Fellow (2024/25) at the Istanbul Policy Center (Turkey), where he researches about the EU’s security architecture, its impact on strategic partners, and Turkey-Italy relations. Samuele C.A. Abrami is currently a Lead Researcher at CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs), focusing on the international relations in the Greater Mediterranean and MENA region. He pursued a PhD at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Milan (2021-25), with a project about decision-making in Turkish foreign policy and based on extensive fieldwork as a visiting fellow (2022-24) at Sabancı University in Istanbul (Turkey). Samuele is also a subject expert and lecturer in the ASERI master’s in Middle Eastern Studies. Supported by a CM-Lerici grant, he was a visiting researcher at the Stockholm Institute for Turkish Studies (SUITS) in 2024. Samuele also collaborates with the International Center for Contemporary Turkish Studies and Ce.St.In.Geo. He works and publishes on Turkey’s domestic politics, the Kurdish question, and broader issues concerning European and MENA (geo)political dynamics.
