Roshanian Arouna

After graduating in Business and Law at the LUISS University in Rome and having obtained her Master degree in International Relations at ASERI- Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Arouna Roshanian started her career in international development at a young age by working first for the Italian Ministry of Finance – Direction for International Financial Relations,  and then as a UN Junior Professional Officer for the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) at the Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs, based in Paris (France).  Here she developed her interest and knowledge about Private Sector Development and Partnerships, in particular in the area of Middle East and North Africa where she worked and travelled extensively for several years. Such career path progressed further during her several years of work for UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) managing a major multilateral project on private sector development in Iraq, and then in West Africa, both in Togo as UNDP programme specialist on Resources and Partnerships Mobilization and in Cape Verte as a consultant for FAO. She continues working in this area for different organisations, while launching her own social business as the co-founder and manager of a social enterprise operating in the area of education services in Togo and West Africa.
She recently joined the European Commission as programme manager at the EU Delegation in Togo in charge of private sector development in the framework of the Africa-Europe Alliance.
Since 2011 she enjoys being back at the Università Cattolica in Milan teaching a course at the MIR in ASERI. She also enjoys working pro-bono for local NGOs active in the promotion of education and resources development in Africa, while carrying her most important job as primary educator (and mother) of three beautiful daughters.
