Romanelli Margherita

Graduated in Economics from the University of Bologna and with a MSc in Poverty Reduction: policies and practices from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, she has gained over fifteen years of professional experience in international cooperation for development and humanitarian aid. She has integrated field experience for the design, management and M&E of interventions in more than 15 extra UE, with strategic supervision at headquarters level and direction of programs in specific geographic areas, working with the main international donors. In the sector of gender policies she has designed, managed and supervised several projects against woman violence and exploitation (GFMs, discrimination, human trafficking, sexual/labour exploitation in Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Thailand) and to promote woman empowerment (food security, IGAs, education, awareness in Afghanistan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Cambodia, Sahrawi Refugees’ Camps, Vietnam). Since 2012 she is the policy advisor of GVC, in particular on issues of sustainable development and migration, and contributes to research works. She represents the organization within main national networks of NGOs such as LINK2007 and Concord Italia and take part to thematic working groups. She has experience as panelist at institutional meetings, seminars and conferences, and as expert is involved in teaching activities such as training courses and university master’s degrees.
