Cistulli Vito

Mr. Cistulli is a senior agricultural economist at the FAO since 2003. He is currently leading the social protection policy work of FAO and the unit in charge of the development of a territorial approach to food security policies.

He has been responsible for rural development and environmental policy analysis; formulation, management, monitoring and evaluation of development programmes and projects; development of country strategies and investment plans, and he has provided policy support and advice to Governments of more than 50 countries around the world.

Before joining FAO he has been working with economic research institutes, international organisations including the World Bank, the Indian Ocean Commission, UNEP/MAP as freelance consultant or staff member.

Mr. Cistulli is also giving lectures to universities on food security and development related matters. He published alone or with colleagues a number of technical papers on agricultural and rural development policies and a book on Environmental Economics.
