Marco Gestri is Professor of International Law and Director of the Centre for Research on the European Union at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). He also teaches international law at the Johns Hopkins University, SAIS Europe and at LUISS, Rome. Scientific Director of the "Renzo Imbeni Summer School, L'Europa delle idee", Modena (2008-). He lectured on the same subject at University of Pisa, Italy; Naval Academy of Livorno, Italy; Military Academy of Modena, Italy. Holder of the Jean Monnet Module on “European Migration Law”, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, 2006-2008. Visiting Professor at Syracuse University, New York, USA (1988-1989); Universidad Rafael Landivar, Guatemala (1992-1994); Moscow Institute for International Relations, Russia (MGIMO), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia (1999); University of Zaragoza, Spain (2003-2005); Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2010); Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil (2017; 2021; 2022). Certificate, Centre for Studies and Research in International Law and International Relations, Hague Academy of International Law (1994). He worked as an expert for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Guatemala (1992-1994), Egypt (1996) and at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the UN in New York (1994). He is the author and editor of several books and articles on international law and EU Law. Member of the Board of editors, and book reviews editor, of the Italian Yearbook of International Law and of the Board of Editors of the journal Rivista italiana di diritto del turismo. Member of the Italian Society of International Law and of EU Law (SIDI), was invited on two occasions to deliver the general conclusions at the Society's annual meeting (Trento, 2017; Lecce, 2021) .
