Born in Milan in 1963, he is Professor of Political Economy and Head of Department of International Economics, Institutions and Development at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Since November 2012 he is Dean of the same Faculty.
He graduated in Political Sciences at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick (UK). From 2005 to 2010 he was Head of the Doctorate School in Institutions and Policies at the Catholic University.
He is Executive and Associate Editor of Economia Politica - Journal of Analytical and Institutional Economics, member of the Italian Economic Association (SIE) and of the Scientific Committee of CRANEC (Research Center on Economic Analysis and International Economic Development) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
His main research interests concern microeconomics and game theory, and, in particular, the theory of delegation and contracts, repeated games of incomplete information, the design of governance systems, social capital and subsidiarity.
