The purpose of this book is to tell in a popular way how and why countries and great powers use the most popular sport in the world for their strategic objectives.
Following the world of football, we can have a key to analyze the present, to remember historical facts of the past and have an extra element to orient ourselves in the future of international relations.
Valerio Mancini, professor and Director of the Research Center of the Rome Business School; professor of Spanish language at the Armando Curcio Institute - Rome; he has been a visiting lecturer in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Syria.He is coordinator of the Department of Transnational Crime of MISAP; he has worked with several international organizations (UNODC, UNICRI, MAOC-N and the OECD). Author of books, articles and reports and co-author of academic publications, he has been a foreign journalist for the Colombian newspaper "El Espectador" and, since 2010, he has been a correspondent in Italy for the radio program "UN Analísis".
Alessio Postiglione, journalist of Formiche, director of the Master in Communications of the Rome Business School and lecturer at Sioi, Armando Curcio Institute and Luiss, former head of the press office at the Presidency of the Council, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and spokesperson for the vice-president of the European Parliament and the mayor of Naples, has written for Repubblica, Huffington Post and Linkiesta. Author of "People and populism" (Cairo, 2019) and "Sahara, desert of mafias and jihad" (Castelvecchi, 2016), winner of the Mare Nostrum Award, he is a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
Narcís Pallarès-Domènech, political scientist graduated from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Master's degree in geopolitics from SIOI and La Sapienza. Guest lecturer at the chair of Geography of Languages at the University of "Tor Vergata". External relations attaché of the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Italy.
