The book:

On February 24, 2022, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine reignited international tensions, upsetting economic balances and markets. Mario Draghi, then Italy's prime minister, flatly rejected the idea that Europe was entering a war economy or that it was inevitably destined to do so.
Today, a few years later, critical reflection is necessary: have Europe and Italy really managed to maintain that economic stability far from the concept of war economy, as Draghi hoped? And again: to what extent are the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine, the muscular policy of the United States made up of tariffs and strategies on NATO, and the new geopolitical tensions, particularly those in the Middle East, conditioning and will affect global economies? Finally, what will be the concrete effects of the massive European defense investment plan, the ReArm Europe/Readiness 2030, and the projects for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine on the economies of EU countries? And above all, at what price?
This book offers an original and rigorous look at the economic dynamics of wars, to better understand the conflicts of today and yesterday and imagine the crises of tomorrow.
