Monica Maggioni is Editorial Director for RAI's Information Offer. Journalist, special correspondent, writer, documentary director, presenter, she was president of Rai (2015-2018), CEO of Rai Com (2019 - 2020) and Director of TG1 (2021-2023).
She was a war correspondent and covered US politics extensively. In 2003, during the war in Iraq, she was the only Italian reporter embedded in the US army. For the next few months, she was a correspondent from Baghdad and covered the Middle East. In the last two decades he has made reportages from the main critical areas of the planet: Iraq, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Israel and African countries. He interviewed many heads of state, activists and terrorists. In 2010 and 2011 he made two documentaries screened at the Venice Film Festival, Ward 54 and Out of Tehran.
He has collaborated with Italian and foreign newspapers and periodicals and written books: Dentro la guerra (Longanesi, 2005);  The End of Truth (Longanesi, 2006);  Media terror (Laterza, 2015);  Spettri (Longanesi 2024); she is the author of several publications including Twitter and jihad (ISPI, 2015).
He is a professor of History of Contemporary Conflicts at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.
