Marina Calculli is a scholar of International Relations. His research lies at the intersection of international relations, political theory and law, with a particular focus on the Middle East region. Marina is an associate professor at Leiden University. He has held several teaching and research positions at various universities, including Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris as a Marie Curie Global Fellow, George Washington University as a Fulbright Research Fellow, the American University of Beirut as a postdoctoral fellow, and the University of Oxford (St Antony's College), as a visiting scholar and member of the Common Room.
She is the author of numerous publications in English and Italian, including Sovereign Terror. State and Jihad in the post-liberal era (Il Mulino 2018, written in collaboration with Francesco Strazzari) and Come uno Stato. Hezbollah and strategic mimesis (Vita&Pensiero 2018).
