The book:
At the end of the pandemic, the world witnessed an unprecedented intensification of geopolitical conflicts, which have become a real battleground also to decide the fate of globalization.
Sandro Mezzadra and Brett Neilson propose, in fact, a reading of these conflicts no longer as a simple expression of rivalry between powers, but as the outcome of the growing centrality of war within the dynamics of global capitalism. In an era marked by increasingly evident inequalities and disparities, the analysis proposed by the authors therefore sheds light on a world in which conflict is now considered a structural component of globalization.
The Rest and the West shows how contemporary capitalism is reshaping the geopolitical and social landscape globally, turning war and violence into essential tools for its functioning.
