Liberalism, for at least two centuries, has cultivated and made grow the most beautiful flower of Western civilization: the individual and his creativity. In this twenty-first century, however, it has turned into a progressive ideology. It has thus produced a divisive idea of freedom that feeds the "culture wars" of our times. An idea that impoverishes the individual, his identity and his relationships, reducing him to the pure present, opposing him to his history, community, cultural tradition, religion. Progressivism opposes the ideology of a state of rights to popular sovereignty. The risk is that of a decline of the West and its freedom. The authors of this book aim to discuss the contours of a liberal-popular cultural proposal that can build an alternative to this perspective.

Speeches by Sergio Belardinelli, Raimondo Cubeddu, Massimo De Angelis, Pierpaolo Donati, Flavio Felice, Paolo Maria Floris, Marco Invernizzi, Pier Giuseppe Monateri, Lorenzo Ornaghi, Rocco Pezzimenti.
