The Politicisation of Vulnerability:

Political and Philosophical Perspectives on Mental Health, Institutions, and Infrastructures

ASERI is pleased to host the seminar series in collaboration with the Department of Political Sciences of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

What is the relation between power, bodies, vulnerability and the concepts of health, sickness, and disability? This series of seminars will discuss this question (and others) drawing from the fields of Political Philosophy, Feminist Theory, Postcolonial Studies, and Disability Studies.

The teaching and learning method will be primarily textual (i.e. discussion of pre-assigned texts) and before each meeting, participants will be asked to write and upload a file with two questions regarding the essential readings assigned for that class. Multi-media sources will also be presented and recommended during the seminars (e.g. short videos, films, music, etc.)

Teacher: Ludovica D'Alessandro (she/her), PhD.

Ludovica received her PhD in Philosophy from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is the author of publications in international journals and has presented her work at numerous conferences.
