As part of the Graduate School of Economics and International Relations – ASERI, the following internship opportunity offered by the Italian Navy is worth mentioning.
The Italian Navy invites the University to participate in the fourth edition of the Open Sea Exercise 2023-2 to be held between October and November 2023. This is a 0 credits internship reserved for students enrolled in the Degree Course in Political Sciences and International Relations (Faculty of Political and Social Sciences) and the Faculty of Law.
Objectives
The selected students will have the opportunity to embark with the Navy and to support the POLAD (Political Advisor) and the LEGAD (Legal Advisor) of the CINCNAV (Command in Chief of the Naval Squadron) in a simulation of foreign threat. Students will be part of a study group whose task will be to provide political legitimacy and a legal framework to the decisions taken by CINCNAV during the exercise.

- Embarkation on Nave Cavour from the port of Civitavecchia 21-23/10/2023
- Preparatory course (in navigation) by CESMAR 23/10-6/11/2023
- Return and stop in the port in Civitavecchia 6-7/11/2023
- Departure on Nave Cavour from Civitavecchia and Open Sea Exercise 7-17/11/2023
- Disembarkation in Civitavecchia 17/11/2023

Availability
There are 4 places available (2 POLAD and 2 LEGAD) + 2 reserves for each category, among the students enrolled in the Degree Course in Political Sciences and International Relations (Faculty of Political and Social Sciences) and the Faculty of Law.

Candidate requirements
To send their application, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
• Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
• For POLAD (Political and Social Sciences): passing the International Relations or Strategic Studies courses will be a preferential requirement in the selection phase.
• For LEGAD (Law): attendance and/or passing of the courses of Public International Law, International Criminal Law and Clinical-Legal Practice Experience in International Law will be a preferential requirement in the selection phase.

To be indicated in the text of the application email, the following information must be clearly reported:
1. current UCSC matriculation number;
2. weighted average of the marks (indicate separately the average obtained in the Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees);
3. number of credits obtained on the date of sending the application;
4. indication of the level of knowledge of the English language and possession of any certifications;
5. Icatt and personal email address;
6. Mobile phone number.

1. copy of the front and back of the identity document (valid and not expired;
2. CV in PDF format;
3. self-certification of university enrolment with exams and grades (downloadable from ICatt or from the platform of other universities) for the current Bachelor's and Master's Degrees;

Knowledge of the English language can be proven with certifications obtained or field experience demonstrable in the CV.

Cost coverage
The Navy will cover the costs of board and lodging on the ship, while travel to reach the embarkation and other ancillary costs of board and/or lodging are the responsibility of the student.

It should be noted that some pathologies or intolerances cannot be operationally managed during exercise.

The Navy will collect the health data of the participants through an anamnesis form(which is attached for viewing), which the selected students must fill in and send directly to the Navy, once they have passed the selection.
If the health profile of the trainees is not suitable, the Navy reserves the right not to admit participants to the exercise.
