In this talk Prof Cull will introduce his concept of Reputational Security, which is a way of understanding the enhanced security that comes to a place when it is well thought of. The talk will be grounded in history but will include recent examples of reputation helping state in moments of crisis. Care will be taken to contrast this new concept of Reputational Security from the more familiar term Soft Power. Key differences include the openness of Reputational Security to collective work at the supra state level and the need for policy reform to build better realities to support the desired image.
