At the end of the first year of Donald Trump's second term as President of the United States, the famous scholar G. John Ikenberry reflects on the evolution of US foreign policy, highlighting both elements of continuity and rupture with the past. This open lecture comes at a critical moment, not only for U.S. foreign policy, but also for the liberal international order, whose chief guarantor has shown a growing disregard for many of its core principles.
