Overview

The First Level Specialising Master Programme in Advanced Global Studies provides students with the tools to study and understand international relations in their complexity. Its comprehensive approach to global relations, encompassing political science, economics and law, enables MAGS graduates to study the fundamental international issues of the contemporary world: from security and humanitarian studies, to sustainable development, migration and environmental issues.

The Master in Advanced Global Studies, a first-level Master's degree, is designed for:

-          Recent graduates, first or second level, with a strong interest in deepening contemporary international relations;

-          Professionals, with the desire to enhance their knowledge of the contemporary global reality, and with the aim of embarking on an international professional path.

FIVE REASONS TO CHOOSE MAGS

  • An international and multidisciplinary programme course, designed to prepare the leaders of tomorrow;
  • An outstanding ASERI faculty, comprising academics and professionals from international organisations and institutions;
  • The opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of today’s global landscape, its complexity and its challenges;
  • A personalised career guidance and professional development pathway, with a dedicated advisor supporting students in securing an internship;
  • An internship of no less than 3 months in Italy or abroad offering the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the Master Programme in a real professional environment.
Program

The Master consistes of six months of classroom-based training at ASERI, followed by approximately five months dedicated to the internship experience and the preparation of the final Master's dissertation (the Project Work).
Classroom teaching combines in-persons lectures with practical workshops.

The aim of the programme is to provide MAGS students with the theoretical and practical tools required to analyze and understand the contemporary global reality, with a view to educating and preparing the future leaders of the international scene.

The Master in Advanced Global Studies is characterized by a multidimensional and interdisciplinary approach, which accompanies the four distinct levels of the Master throughout their duration

The first level of the Master, dedicated to a scientific study of the global reality, will consist of theoretical studies of Economics, International Relations, but also International Law and security and sustainability studies. In addition, professional managerial and scientific research skills will be provided.

The second level of the Master's will be dedicated to regional studies of international relations. Contemporary issues in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as the contemporaneity of the Middle East will be studied.

The third and fourth levels of the Master will instead be dedicated to the internship experience and the drafting of the final paper for the Master, the Project Work.

-          Knowledge and skills, theoretical and practical, to understand contemporary international issues in their complexity;

-          Analysis and research skills on global dynamics, from the micro to the macro level;

-          A mix of soft and hard skills, which can be spent professionally in an international career, developed thanks to dedicated seminars and interventions.

The final calendar of courses will be made available shortly.

However, the Master will follow the following structure:

January 2026 - June 2026: courses and lectures
July 2026 - November 2026: Internship and Project Work
December 2026: Graduation
