Dr Katarzyna W. Sidło is Director for the Middle East and North Africa Department at CASE – Center for Social and Economic Research, Poland and a recurring visiting professor at ASERI - Graduate School of Economics and International Relations, at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy. She specializes in the political economy, geoeconomics and socioeconomic development of the broadly understood MENA Region. Educated at the University of Warsaw, School of Oriental and African Studies, and the University of Jordan, Katarzyna holds a PhD (summa cum laude) from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw, a MA in Arabic and Islamic Studies, and a BSc in Economics. Dr Sidło has over 10 years of experience conducting academic as well as policy-oriented research, the latter commissioned by clients such as the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Space Agency, the European Committee of the Regions, and Polish and British governments. In the past, she was a Visiting Scholar at G. Tsereteli Institute of Oriental Studies of Ilia State University, Tbilisi (2019/2020) and at the Centre of Islamic Studies at the University of Cambridge (2015), as well as a SHARIASource Editor for Islamic Finance at Islamic Legal Studies Program at Harvard Law School.
